'Blame Bernie' if new quali fails - Brawn 'I really hope we get it right this time'
Brawn remains wary of new qualifying rules
'Blame Bernie' if F1's new qualifying format also fails.
That's what Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn said at Indianapolis on Thursday as the sport prepares to ring-in an aggregate system in mid-July.
Ross said the F1 impresario, Mr Ecclestone, proposed the one-lap scrap.
He welcomes the return of low-fuel runs, but said the real concern is in making the system of aggregating grid times easy to follow for F1's track spectators.
"It will be a shame," said Brawn, "if the people can't follow it."
"I'm also a little concerned we're making too many changes so I really hope we get it right this time. I think it doesn't reflect well on Formula One."
Brawn said the teams agreed with Ferrari that if a car was left stranded on the circuit in the first 25-minute session, it could be retrieved for the second.
